Recombinant-DNA technology is now commonly used in virtually every aspect of the biological sciences. The purpose of this exposition is to provide an outline of the approaches used to identify genes, to isolate the gene of interest, to amplify the gene if necessary, and to clone genes. There are four important applications of rDNA in the areas of human diseases prophylaxis, therapy, diagnosis and discovery. Areas of prophylaxis include vaccines and coagulation. It is now possible, through rDNA technology, to produce an effective and safer production of both live and killed vaccines with increase response and high specificity. This review explains about importance and applications of recombinant-DNA technology
