Ayurveda is the indigenous  system of medicine. It has been practiced in India since ancient times. The traditional systems of medicine are really effective but the problem with them is they lack in quality assurance. The basic guidelines have been prescribed by the  Central Council of Research in Ayurveda and Siddha  for testing  these formulations. It is essential to test  the quality, safety and efficacy of the Ayurvedicformulations.Ayurvedic Pharmacy advocates the use of quality control tests to make sure that the prepared medicines adhere to the standards mentioned in Ayurveda.Standardization and development of reliable quality protocols for Ayurvedic formulations using modern techniques of analysis is extremely important. The present work aims to standardize a polyherbal churna called Hingwashtak Churna available in the market. The churna was procured and standardised for the parameters like organoleptic characters, physical characters, physiochemical properties and phytochemical screening etc. These parameters assures  the quality of the product.
